As mud slab dashing slide
As tub claw foot sinks into linoleum
As cat paw scratch a torn sofa to shreds
As tatoo’d lizard bite draws blood
As glasses upside down protect a candle
As one can just sit at times and take notes

It wasn’t
as if
I had said it
was effortless.
